The AJS Labels sales team is currently holding year end reviews with all of its major accounts.
“Year end reviews are very important to us“, said AJS Labels Managing Director, Andrew Scrimgeour. “They’re an excellent opportunity for us to look back on the year as a whole, to assess what has gone well and really focus on ways to further improve our offering in the year ahead.”
We were delighted with the report we received from key customer R&R Ice Cream Ltd last week.
R&R celebrated its 25th anniversary last year. Starting out as a small regional ice cream business with five employees & turnover in the early years of some £250,000, R&R has now reached approximately €465m per annum. It has three production sites in the UK – Leeming Bar, Leeds & Bodmin – as well as further seven factories across mainland Europe, in France, Germany & Poland. The company is Europe’s largest producer of own label ice cream & currently manufactures some 450 million litres of ice cream annually.
This success was recognised recently at the 2011 Profit Track Awards. R&R was judged the clear winner having recorded a leap in profits of 210% a year from £1.5 million in 2006 to £43 million in 2009. The league table featured other well-known brands including online card retailer Moonpig.com (No 3), racing team McLaren (No 4) & online bookmaker bet365 (No 13).
In our first year supplying R&R Ice Cream, AJS Labels has delivered more than 50 million labels over approximately 100 different SKU’s.
Quality, customer service and delivery on time and in full, are our priorities and our 2011 OTIF figures for R&R are very encouraging.
No. of labels printed 50,011,000
% of labels rejected 0.03%
OTIF 99.40%
Lynsey Pearson – R&R Supply Chain Co-Ordinator commented, “The team at AJS Labels is excellent, always a pleasure to work with… if only all our suppliers were as reliable and as easy to deal with”
We were very pleased with this feedback & look forward to providing them with an excellent service in 2012.

Thats a great result Andrew. 99.4% OTIF is a very high result and real credit to your team. Its good to see other label businesses pushing OTIF as a key metric, adding numbers to claimed high standards of performance makes the claim far more credible.
Impressive work, and good luck in 2012.
Adrian, thank you very much for your comments and encouragement. Much appreciated.
We have at AJS a culture of openness and honesty within the company and that has now been extended to our communications outside -of course we have started something now and set a standard which then creates the pressure to keep it up!
