AJS Labels first met Jeremy Jacobs from Indulgence Cupcake Company back in November 2010. The mother, father and son outfit started just three years ago in the family kitchen in Sussex. Jeremy was looking for a self-adhesive labels to stick to the bottom of his cakes and came to the AJS factory to discuss the order with technical manager, Craig Howe. Together they explored suitable materials and adhesives. Jeremy even brought some of his lovely cakes for us to experiment on! We used our digital press to print 8,000 self-adhesive labels across 5 different sorts: Gluten Free, Vegan, British, Bulmers and of course Indulgence Cupcakes.
Things continued to go well for the company as the business expanded into the corporate sector with cupcakes going to La Senza, Guess and Virgin Holidays.
AJS works with Indulgence to design self-adhesive labels
AJS were delighted to hear from Jeremy again in January this year. Indulgence Cupcake Company were looking to supply a potential customer with cakes in individually moulded packs and wanted our help in designing a self-adhesive labels that would wrap around the pack and seal it together. He came back to the factory to work with Craig (unfortunately didn’t bring the cupcakes!). After hours of trialling different shapes and designs, Craig developed a key line for ex-designer, Jeremy to work with.
Indulgence Cupcake Company wins lucrative Virgin Atlantic contract
Then in May we heard the exciting news – potential customer, Virgin Atlantic, loved the Indulgence Cupcakes and wanted to serve them on their transatlantic flights. Wow! From the 1st of June passengers flying on Virgin Atlantic will enjoy cupcakes as part of their afternoon tea service on 15 flights departing from London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow. This lucrative contract with the UK’s second largest long-haul airline, will allow the company to increase its turnover by 250 per cent!
AJS helps to keep cupcakes flying!
So it’s busy, busy for Jeremy and his family and it’s busy, busy for AJS Labels. We’ve printed 456,000 of bespoke self-adhesive labels on our Mark Andy press with a further 1,044,000 due later in the year. From what I hear, Indulgence Cupcake Company has had to move into bigger premises and have a few extra helpers these days! Congratulations Jeremy and the team!
