  • 1. I want to order labels - what should I do?

    Get in touch. You can call our Sales Team on 01903 731212 or send us an email to sales@ajslabels.com with details and we will contact you to discuss your label requirements.

  • 2. Do you have minimum order quantity?

    No. Our wide range of presses mean we can supply any quantity and any type of reel labels.

  • 3. What is your standard lead time?

    Normally 15 working days from receipt of approved artwork and purchase order. However, our Digital press enables us to produce work to very tight deadlines so if you have an urgent requirement just let us know.

  • 4. What should I do if I don't know which labels will work the best for me?

    Get in touch. Call 01903 731212 to speak to someone in our Customer Service Team about the end use of your label and they will advise you on suitable solutions.

  • 5. Do you have any quality checks before despatching labels?

    Yes. We work to the ISO 9001.2008 standards. Click here to download our ISO certificate. We have built quality into all of our processes to ensure that the end product meets our customers' requirements. QA checks are also carried out at various stages of the production cycle.

  • 10. Can I change my mind after placing the order and approving artwork?

    Yes. But be quick. If you want to make changes after placing your order and approving artwork contact our Customer Service Team immediately to check if your order has been printed. There may be a chance that your labels have not been printed yet. However, some costs may have been incurred so the quicker you act the better.

  • 11. Can you design a label for me?

    Although we do not have an in-house design service, our Customer Service Team will be able to advise you if your design can be created by our repro team. Call them on 01903 731212.

  • 12. Do you sell labels off the shelf?

    No. All our labels are printed to order. We will hold stock for specific customers depending on trading terms etc.

  • 13. Can you print any colour or shape label?

    Yes. We have hundreds of cutters in stock for each of our printing presses. If we do not hold a cutter for the size or shape of label you require we can order one within 24 hours.

  • 14. Do you produce flat sheet labels?

    All our printing presses are reel fed but we can finish onto a sheet rather than a reel if required.

  • 15. How many labels should be on the reel?

    We can run up to very large reels but this is dependant on the maximum size of reel that your applicators can take.

    If you are applying the labels by hand you will need to consider the best way to manage this from a weight and size perspective.

  • 16. Can you deliver labels overseas?

    Yes. If you require delivery overseas please contact our Customer Service Team on 01903 731212 to check the cost.

  • 17. Do you charge for delivery?

    The cost for standard next day delivery within the UK is included in the price. The cost for same day or overseas deliveries will vary. To find out more please contact our Customer Service Team on 01903 731212.

  • 18. I need specialised labels. Can you print them for me?

  • 19. How long have you been producing labels?

    We have been supplying labels for 40 years, first as Arun Labels, then Tinsley Robor followed by AGI Labels, and since 1st April 2009 as AJS Labels.

  • 20. What kind of labels do you produce?

  • 21. Can you print on any self-adhesive material?

    Yes, almost all. However, some very thick materials will not run through our presses.

  • 22. Are there any origination charges?

    Standard origination charges apply if your labels require conventional print. However, if your labels require digital print then there are no charges for originations. Contact our Customer Service Team on 01903 738 212 to find out more.

  • 23. Can I use a label on any surface?

    Some surfaces require specific types of material and adhesive so it is best to check first with our Customer Service Team on 01903 731212.

  • 24. Can I have a label which can be easily removed?

    Yes. You can request to have labels printed on removable material which is designed to remain on the product as long as intended.

  • 25. Can you produce waterproof labels?

    Yes. However, testing is recommended.

  • 26. Can you produce multilayer / peel & read labels?

    Yes. Our presses can produce up to 4 layer peel & read labels and also piggyback labels.

  • 27. How should I store my labels?

    Labels should be stored at 20-22à¡®d at 50-55% humidity. Reels should be stored horizontally, not vertically, and should not be in direct sunlight or close to heating sources. A 'first in, first out' stock rotation system is recommended.

  • 28. What shelf life will my labels have?

    18 months from the day of material manufacture, when stored according to the recommended conditions.

  • 29. What should I do to set up my account?

    If you require a credit account please contact our Customer Service Team on 01903 731212. You will need to download and complete the Standard Terms & Conditions and New Account Application forms, which you should then email to sales@ajslabels.com or fax to 01903 738204.

  • 30. Can I attend pass on press?

    Yes. Press passes are available but may be time limited. Please check with our Customer Service Team.

  • 31. Can you provide a proof before production?

    Yes. Press proofs are available and can be quoted for. An alternative to a full press pass would be a digital proof from our digital press, which looks close to the end product but is a less expensive option.

  • 32. What is maximum size for the label?

    The maximum size varies from press to press. The largest size we can produce is up to 380 x 570mm.

  • 36. How will you deliver my labels?

    Your labels will be despatched by courier in secure packed boxes.

  • 38. What is the winding specification?

    As all our labels are supplied on reels, we need to know which winding specifications you require before starting production. This will vary depending on the applicator to be used when your labels are applied to the final product. Download our Guide to Winding Specifications.
