The Prepress Stage At AJS Labels
Prepress is the term used in the printing industry for the processes and procedures that occur between the creation of a print layout and final printing. The prepress procedure includes the manufacture of a printing plate, ink mixing and preparation of tooling.
Our on-site prepress uses the most up-to-date technology and software, provides a range of services from small artwork alterations to a complete design service.
Our flexo and letter press plates are created in four stages using modern Computer-to-Plate (CTP) equipment. This enables us to:
- produce digitally-generated plates of a consistently superior standard to conventional plates
- cut the time and cost need to make plates
- produce high quality plates that will hold a dot comparable with the offset litho process
- improve registration and image-to-edge repeatability over traditional methods
We also have an image setter which produces positive films used to create screens.
With over 3,500 cutters across six printing machines, AJS Labels has a huge selection of shapes and sizes to accommodate all types of your labels.
