Repro - Reproduction Of Graphics

Repro, short for reprography, is the reproduction of graphics in preparation to print. It's carried out in all print processes and consists of a number of stages, which vary according to which press the label will be going on. The various stages can include trap, step and repeat, dot gain compensation and separating artwork for plate production.

At AJS Labels we use the most advanced software and equipment available. Our significant investment in state-of-the-art Computer-to-Plate (CTP) technology has made a massive difference in maintaining high quality and in improving productivity in the Repro department. With CTP there is a direct link between workstations and plate production, enabling artwork to be colour separated and ready for production quicker and with digital consistency.

Our dedicated team boasts years of experience and a knowledge base covering a multitude of print processes. With our high tech equipment, the team has the ability and the tools to increase print quality for the most demanding of designs, from increased ink density to smooth vignettes and the smallest of dot percentages.

The system we have designed to ensure artwork traceability and accurate label fulfilment every time is our pride and joy. Every piece of artwork is given a unique reference number, which then appears on all proofs, plates and job instructions, and any amends are re-coded for traceability and to ensure we are producing the correct label every time.

Our main aim is to be a source of guidance, advice and expertise to our customers whenever and however we can. We therefore keep up-to-date with all the latest developments in software and equipment and in doing so are able to accept a large variety of files including:
